NFL Free Agency begins tonight at midnight, meaning beat reporters and rabid fans alike will be operating on very little sleep (if any) tomorrow.

It can be an exciting time, especially if your team picks up a talented player. We would offer just this one caveat: the time to get really excited is during the NFL Draft, not free agency.

Fans have a way of latching on to the idea that the team "willing to spend the money" is the one that wins. It might be true in other sports (baseball), but not in the NFL. Who makes the bigger splash in free agency: Dan Snyder or the Rooney family?

Now, which franchise makes the bigger splash on draft day? Which one wins?

It's not easy for us to compliment the Steelers, but the truth is the truth. It brings a smile to our face watching Snyder, who would sue his own mother to help his bottom line, fail year after year.
